This is a gorgeous set of Phoenix Consolidated vases. The theme is yellow! Neither one are on perfect condition so I’m offering them together. Plus they look good together. The tall satin glass one is called The Philodendron. It’s an embossed floral vase on satin glass. This was one of several patterns/molds designed in the 1920’s known as the “Merele Molds” inspired by Renee Latique.
Father and son artists, Reuben and Kenneth Hailey created 45 molds for the Merele line of cameo cases. While employed by Phoenix Glass in 1928. I get lost in this next part but Phoenix Glass and Consolidated Glass were two different companies bit one of them borrowed the others molds and we have “Phoenix Consolidated” Theres much more info on this online. I found this stuff on the pcgcc.org website!
Condition:
The big vase has one black mark on it and it has the tiniest of knicks/chip on one of the yellow flowers. Both of these can be seen in my photos, zoom in if you have too. It has gorgeous color and has no cracks or repairs, very minimal wear.
The smaller one is missing a decent size of yellow on the front or back of it, see photo. Some of the paint has worn in areas. It’s still pretty great though. I don’t think it’s as pretty as the tall one but it’s still a nice piece!
